On Saturday evening, IPSS Medical responded to reports of a single vehicle accident on the N2 southbound near Ballito. On arrival, it was found that a secondary collision had occurred between a tow truck and a second vehicle.
One patient from the initial accident sustained critical injuries. Whilst the tow truck owner was trying to assist the critically injured patient, he was struck by the second vehicle and sustained fatal injuries and was declared deceased on scene.
The driver of the second vehicle fled the scene.
Our condolences go out to the friends and family of Sugen, who was a friend to all of us at IPSS MEDICAL RESCUE. Ambulance services often work hand in hand with tow truck companies on scene. As a fellow first responder, this hits close to home for IPSS Medical.
