One person has been seriously injured in a collision on Leicester Road in Mobeni just after 11am on Thursday morning.
ALS Paramedics Medical services arrived on the scene to find total carnage after a light motor vehicle had collided with a truck on the roadway.
The driver a male believed to be in his twenties was found severely entrapped in his vehicle with serious injuries.
Advanced Life Support Paramedics worked to stabilize the patient while the Durban Fire Department used the Jaws of Life and other hydraulic tools to free the man. Once free the patient was rushed through to a nearby Durban Hospital for the urgent care that he required.
Leicester Road outgoing is currently closed while emergency services are on the scene.
At this stage the events leading up to the accident are unknown however SAPS were on the scene and will be investigating further.
