Two people were injured after the bakkie they were traveling in overturned on the N2 between the North Coast Road and Umhlanga, KZN off-ramp a short while ago (Thursday).
A member of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) was traveling on the highway when he noticed the bakkie lying on its side in the centre median. The driver and his passenger were in the process of jumping out of the vehicle.
The Reaction Officer contacted the RUSA Operations Center at approximately 11:39 and requested medical assistance. A Paramedic from Netcare 911 who was passing stopped and provided medical attention to the injured.
According to the driver of the overturned vehicle, he and a friend were traveling from KwaMashu to the Gateway Shopping Center when they avoided a truck that veered into their lane. The driver swerved which caused his bakkie to overturn. The two were transported to a medical facility by ambulance.
The truck driver was uninjured.
