Police officers deployed at Emanguzi were conducting stop and searches at Scabazini area when they spotted a courier vehicle driving recklessly.
The said vehicle was stopped and a search was conducted. Inside the vehicle, police found several bags of dagga and illicit goods such as takkies, clothes, and other items. A 24-year-old suspect was placed under arrest for dealing in dagga and possession of counterfeit goods. The seized dagga was 18,7 kg in weight. Investigations conducted by police revealed that the goods were being transported to Durban.
The total value of the recovered dagga and goods is estimated at R500 000-00. The suspect is appearing before the Emanguzi Magistrates Court today.
