The sound partnership between the community and the SAPS during the festive season operations once again yielded successes when drugs worth R175 000-00 were seized during the execution of Operation Phakisa which is currently being conducted along the shorelines and coastal areas of Port Nolloth.
On 17 December 2021, the Port Nolloth Visible Policing, Springbok K9 and Public Order Policing units followed up on information of drug trafficking in the Port Nolloth area.
A courier bakkie was stopped and searched and police found 2516 Mandrax tablets and 105 grams Crystal Meth hidden inside rechargeable lights packaged in 13 boxes.
No arrest was effected however the police opened an enquiry into the matter and the investigation continues.
