Engen a friend of the Transport Sector at the annual RFA Convention
The Road Freight Association’s annual three-day convention took place from 26th-28th May at Fancourt Hotel in the Western Cape. Engen, a long-standing member of the RFA has over the years built a sturdy affiliation with the RFA spanning almost 20 years.
The annual RFA Convention attracts top executives in the trucking, logistics and warehousing sector and is an important way for RFA members to discuss the strategic direction and intervention in the priorities for the industry, as well as to network with colleagues, hear advocacy updates and influence the direction of the trucking industry.
On Friday morning it was off to a wet start for Engen’s golf team who persevered right to the end despite the muddy puddles on the golf course from the previous days rain. Well done to those that participated in the four ball.
Engen featured prominently as a sponsor at the fun-fair themed welcome dinner on the first night and was attended by over 200 key role players from within the transport industry. Addressing the audience at the gathering was Drikus Kotze, GM: Commercial who spoke about Engen’s commitment towards improving the experience of our truck drivers through our driver wellness programme as well as the enhanced offerings for Engen Diesel Club members.
Engen hosted an interactive competition to create awareness on our EDC offering. The competition drew in over 100 participants with one lucky person winning a Mercedes AMG PETRONAS F1 prize.
The day conference featured a variety of industry leaders and specialists all under one roof, engaging in pertinent topics affecting the transport industry with a keynote address from South Africa’s Minister of Transport Lydia Chikunga.
The event undoubtedly was a success with Engen showing up as a collaborator and sustainable partner to the trucking community showcasing our commitment to strengthening the relationship with an industry that helps keep South Africa moving!
