In the afternoon Midlands EMS staff received a call for an accident in the Kwamakhongwana area, Centacow near Ixopo.
Once crews arrived on the scene they found a truck had lost control, overturning and losing its load. The truck came off the roadway and crossed a small river next to the road.
Unfortunately, both occupants of the truck sustained fatal injuries during the incident and were still entrapped once Midlands EMS crews arrived.
Midlands EMS crews noted the fatal injuries and informed SAPS, who are currently investigating the cause of this tragic incident.
