the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) Germiston South Precinct Officers, busy performing point duty during peak hour traffic, were alerted by a passer-by, about a suspicious-looking abandoned truck, parked not far from the intersection of Osborn and the R554.
Two EMPD Officers responded and an abandoned white UD truck tractor (nicknamed horse), with two trailers, was approached and tested. Officers learned that, the truck in question, spent the night unattended, on an island and it was reported robbed/hijacked, in the Middleburg area.
Through the assistance of a well-known private vehicle/car tracking company, the liable truck owner, residing in the Mpumalanga province, was notified and all the necessary stakeholders, were summoned to the scene. Investigations are underway.
