A 38-year-old woman suffered spinal injuries after the vehicle she was traveling in was forced off the road by a reckless municipal truck driver.
At approx 12:15 Paramedics from Reaction Unit South Africa were called out to the Inanda Road near Dawncrest in Verulam to render medical assistance. Upon arrival, Medics found that a yellow municipal truck with NDM registration & a silver Opel Monza on scene. According to the witness, the driver of the truck had been driving recklessly for several kilometers & pushed three (3) cars off their path of travel. He eventually overtook the Opel Monza closely & his front left rim clipped the side of the light motor vehicle. This caused the driver of the car to lose control & climb an embankment. The woman was stabilized on scene and transported to Osindsweni Hospital.
Reaction Officers had tracked down the same municipal driver a few weeks prior after he attempted to run down a passing pedestrian during an argument. No case was desired at that stage and he was released.
