Roadblock conducted on the N4 Toll Road near Karino by female officers
As part of commemorating Women’s Month, Mpumalanga Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison (DCSSL) today led a roadblock on the N4 Toll Road near Karino which was strictly manned by women law enforcent officers from various institutions.
South African Police Service (SAPS), South African Revenue Services (SARS), Transport Inspectorate of Department of Public Works, Roads and Transport, Ehlanzeni Disaster Management and Mbombela Traffic were part of the operation.
The purpose of the operation is to showcase the capacity that women have in law enforcement.
The department also uses the initiative to mobilise communities to support and respect female law enforcers the same way they do to their male counterparts.
Simillar operations have been conducted in Gert Sibande and Bohlabela districts. The last operation will be held in Nkangala Region later this month.
