Successes || Joint Tactical Headquarters Limpopo. At Echo-Station 2 on the Eastern side of Beitbridge Port of Entry, members of the SA National Defence Force intercepted two Toyota Hilux Bakkies with a combined value at R 1,252, 000.00.
The suspects (drivers) did not care, they just drove their vehicles straight into the Limpopo River regardless of the value of the vehicles. The South African Police Service was activated in order to recover the vehicle from the River. The vehicles were finally recovered and handed over to the SA Police Service.
Meanwhile, their counterparts on the Western side of Dongola Kop, confiscated illicit cigarettes valued at about R 287 047.00 whereas in the area of Beitbridge Port of Entry, in a joint operation with members of the Detective Dog Unit the SA National Defence Force confiscated illicit cigarettes valued at R 729 155.00 with a vehicle that was transporting them valued at R350 000.00. The total value of our success combined is R2, 618,047.00.
