Members of Bambatha Rifles are seriously making a huge dent in the pockets of the cigarette smugglers in Limpopo Province. SA National Defence Force soldiers confiscated illicit cigarettes valued at R 2,480, 201.00.
While active with Waylay Operations in the Boedery Area of Responsibility, SA National Defence Force soldiers saw a group of people carrying big luggage on their backs. Upon approaching, the suspects fired at soldiers who returned fire. The suspects fled the scene, returning to Zimbabwe.
The Acting Officer Commanding Joint Tactical Headquarters Limpopo, Lieutenant Colonel Frans Lechuti, commended the members for the excellent work done.
