Following a successful pilot programme, the world’s first WHO-recommended malaria vaccines will soon be administered through routine immunisation programmes across Africa, beginning with Cameroon on Monday, 22 January 2024.
This press briefing will provide information on this historic milestone, including updates on the scale of the rollout in 2024, plans to introduce a second approved vaccine later this year and how countries are preparing for widespread immunisation.
Speakers from Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, Africa CDC, the World Health Organization, UNICEF, and Value Health Africa will be in attendance.
