A 38-year-old man sustained moderate injuries after the tip truck crashed into a metal barrier on the southbound lane of the R102 between the Canelands & Verulam robots – KZN a short while ago (Wednesday).
A member of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) was on patrol in the area at approximately 11:32 when a passing motorist informed him of the accident. On arrival, the driver of a white Mercedes Benz tip truck was located lying on the road. He explained that the brakes on his vehicle failed and it started to roll downhill in reverse. The truck collided into a metal barrier before coming to a stop.
The driver sustained moderate injuries and was treated on scene before being transported to hospital by ambulance.
