On the N1-29 north next to Riverside Nature Reserve, about 30 km from Musina, three trucks were involved in a collision.
It is alleged that the driver of the Scania truck crashed head-on into a Tata truck and then crashed into a Freightliner.
A possible cause was the driver fatigue of the Scania driver.
Both the Scania and Tata overturned.
Two drivers died on the scene and one passenger sustained very serious injuries.
