Rescue Care Paramedics arrived on scene to find a truck had lost control before overturning down the embankment. The driver of the truck was severely entrapped in the wreckage and the Durban Fire Department together with Advanced Life Support Paramedics worked for over two hours to free him from the wreakage using the Jaws of Life and other hydraulic equipment. Once free both patients were stabilised and transported to a nearby Durban hospital for the further Care that they required.
The Hans Dettman offramp from the M7 West is currently closed while emergency services are working on scene and for the recovery of the truck.
At this stage the events leading up to the crash is unknown however SAPS were on the scene and will be investigating further.
