Two men were killed and two women injured this morning when two trucks collided on the N3 Highway, approximately 30km outside of Ladysmith, KwaZulu Natal.
ER24 paramedics, along with the Provincial services, arrived on the scene to find one truck in the road while another was found off the road.
Upon closer inspection, medics found two men lying outside the vehicles. The assessment showed that both men had sustained numerous injuries and showed no signs of life. Nothing could be done for them and they were declared dead by the Provincial Services.
Two other patients, both women in their 20s, were assessed and found to have sustained moderate injuries. The patients were treated and thereafter transported to Ladysmith Provincial Hospital for further care.
The details surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
