Please note the provisions of the directive on the validity of driver and vehicle licences published on 22 July 2020:
The Minister of Transport has published amended directives in terms of the Disaster Management Act, 2002 in Government Gazette Nr. 43679 on 2 September 2020. The capacity for transport in private vehicles is clarified. Private vehicles are permitted to carry 100% of the persons as indicated on the licence disc of the vehicle. Operating licences for tourist and charter services that expired from 26 March to 31 August are deemed valid until 28 February 2021. The gazette is available on our website under Downloads.
The Minister of Transport has published amended directives in terms of the Disaster Management Act, 2002 in Government Gazette 43652 on 25 August 2020 for public transport services. The directions published deal with long distance travel as well as trips not regarded as long distance travel. The gazette is available on our website under Downloads.
